Job Description

Hurdle is a mental health tech startup for invisible barriers.

We are Hurdle.
Hurdle offers the only culturally intentional telemental health care designed for Black people and inclusive of all minority groups. Hurdle empowers organizations to provide their employees/members with culturally informed mental health services, including digitally accessible self-mastery tools, wellness workshops, and teletherapy.  In this way, we support diverse populations who are underserved by traditional resources. We exist to ensure that individuals can show up whole, operate with joy, and live with power.

About the position.
We’re looking for an adaptive, multi-talented Chief of Staff to work directly with our executive team to help us achieve our vision. Your role will span all aspects of the business at Hurdle including our operations, financial activities, strategic planning, and more. You will lead a number of strategic projects and will have the opportunity to create and take the lead on new initiatives as you see fit.

You will work closely with our CEO and leaders across the organization to coordinate business strategy and operations. You will also help ensure quality and efficiency in our processes in order to maximize our investments. You will work on a variety of projects and tasks, both strategic and administrative, to help us achieve our objectives.

 

The Team.

This is a cross-functional role where you will be working with team members from Product, Operations, Marketing, Content and Clinical Operations to help us meet our goals. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously to improve our processes and will be managing multiple projects and priorities at once. Also, given the cross-functional nature of the role, you will have excellent business acumen, organizational expertise, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications.

  • You have 4+ years of experience in a consulting, product management, venture capital, or similar role, and preferably an MBA degree from a top program
  • You’re obsessed with the problem of mental health and committed to delivering better solutions for people dealing with mental health issues
  • You have a strong understanding of various business functions
  • You have experience in data analysis and performance metrics
  • You thrive when you are managing multiple projects at once
  • You are an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage company work environment

Role Responsibilities.

  • Drive the planning of strategic initiatives and OKRs critical to the success of the business
  • Assist the CEO in fundraising activities, such as refining the investor pitch and answering due diligence questions
  • Work closely with Clinical and Operations teams on revenue cycle management strategy
  • Help the executive team iterate on company-wide and functional strategies
  • Attend meetings and calls on behalf of the CEO around business development discussions, internal problem solving, and other key meetings as a voice of the executive team
  • Condense information from internal meetings into actionable insights
  • Keep the team accountable for key results

Preference for:

  • Candidates who demonstrate a deep commitment to the problems we are solving
  • Candidates located in Washington, DC or mid-Atlantic. If based elsewhere, frequent travel to DC will be expected for this position once it is safe to do so.
