About the Position.
We’re looking for an adaptive, multi-talented individual to ensure our brand is unified across our website, app, and marketing materials. 

The content and  marketing manager will drive brand awareness and affinity by defining the brand purpose and strategies that position Hurdle as an industry leader to health plans, employers, consumers, and providers. The Marketing Manager is responsible for all facets of brand development across owned, earned and paid channels including the corporate website, social media, PR, and audience insights. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business; MBA preferred
  • Proven track record of creating successful client marketing, communication strategies and presentations to support acquisition, implementation and retention. 
  • Demonstrated skill in building effective relationships with existing and prospective clients and media partners.
  • Experience developing marketing strategies and campaigns with or at a health plan or in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience positioning brand and messaging across multiple audiences, from business to consumer to prospective employees. 
  • Experience in search engine optimization (SEO) and building a digital brand ecosystem
  • Demonstrated abilities to lead consumer research and insight plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver results on complex initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively influence across levels.
  • Strong, proven analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Able to take initiative and navigate ambiguity well in an agile and fast-paced environment

Role Responsibilities.

  • Develop content strategy and  lead  Hurdle’s cohort of content creators to ensure a cohesive brand across all external platforms including app content. Ensure prompt updates to all channels.
  • Develop brand purpose, a clear brand story and marketing plans that emotionally connect with each audience (industry, health plans, employers, consumers across commercial, Medicare and Medicaid, providers)
  • Optimize the brand ecosystem, across corporate sites and social media assets, to increase relevance, search rankings and website traffic.
  • Cultivate media relationships with creative PR strategies that deliver against defined goals.
  • Develop marketing communications and client relationship strategies that support all business development, driving client satisfaction and long term loyalty.
  • Create marketing strategies and campaigns that support recruitment and retention of a robust network of high quality therapists and coaches.  
  • Develop process for competitive benchmarking and assessment.

Preference for:

  • Candidates with clinical expertise, knowledge of mental health or other public health issues
  • Candidates who demonstrate a deep commitment to the problems we are solving
  • Candidates located in Washington, DC or mid-Atlantic. If based elsewhere, frequent travel to DC will be expected for this position once it is safe to do so
